MEAGAN + GARRETT

m + g

Meagan and Garrett were married on a chilly October day in the midst of a global pandemic. Despite some set backs, and family members and friends that were unable to attend because of the pandemic, the day was truly beautiful. I started my day with Garrett and his groomsmen. They were casually hanging around, cracking jokes, and overall having a great time. I snapped a few photos, and then was on my way to see the Meagan and her girls at The James Hotel. The James is such a beautiful hotel, and the Bride had booked a suite with a gorgeous South Saskatchewan River and Bessborough view! She popped some bubbly, slipped into her wedding dress, and then headed out for a first look with her groom.

We went to Boffins Public Garden for some formal photos before the ceremony. Meagan and Garrett started with a first look. It was pretty chilly out, but that was all forgotten when they saw each other for the first time. The first look was so emotionally charged. This couple melted my heart. They truly were just present with each other during their first look.

Because it was chilly, I definitely photographed formals in record speed! Everyone was super great about moving fast to get our shots in so they could go warm up! Shortly after, we headed to the Remai Modern in downtown Saskatoon for their ceremony and reception. If you've never been to the Remai, I highly suggest you check it out. Besides being a beautiful art gallery, their event space is stunning, and they were very helpful and accomodating. Beautiful florals by Florence Design on either side of the couple made a simplistic and modern alter.

The ceremony was again, so full of emotion and love. There were tears, and laughs, and I am so honoured to have been able to capture it! Garrett let out a huge sneeze in the middle of the ceremony, which provided some comic relief. After the ceremony the Remai staff let us onto the rooftop for a few more portraits before the sun was down. We also took advantage of their really cool art installations on the staircase. The evening rolled into the reception, and although it was not quite the reception they had probably envisioned when first planning their wedding, it was still a wonderful night. I will say, that the food that night was sooooo good! There were many laughs, tears, unexpected events, and firsts for me at this wedding. I was happy to share in this very special day with you both. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me into your bubble for this day!
